Women Empowerment

Women are the most vulnerable people in some of the rural areas of Zambia. Abwenzi Frivillig Forening aims to empower these women to be more self-reliant. By organizing workshops to train them in sustainable and long-time income-generating activities such as sewing, baking, and crop diversification from the usual crop maize that has been negatively affected due to climate change.

Unfortunately, these women use hoes to cultivate the land. With hoes, they are not able to do much. Normally they grow maize for consumption but they need to produce more so that they can increase their production to raise money to send their children to school as schools and medicals are expensive.

As Abwenzi Frivillig Forening we believe that the best tool for development is the effective empowerment of women. We are appealing to well-wishers to come on board with Abwenzi Frivillig Forening to empower these women so that they can increase their productivity and also that they may be empowered economically. Support can be in various ways such as sewing machines, manual baking ovens, solar panels, financial assistance, improving their farming methods, and teaching them modern farming methods.
